The structured evidence block covers five studies from the ESP-Nexus library associated with Dean Radin. Before reading the figures, note an important scope qualification: the library’s share of the published literature on Radin’s work has not been measured, so what follows is a summary of what the library currently holds, not a settled account of his full output or the field more broadly.

Metric mix — these are not comparable

The five rows use different, non-comparable metrics — two report standardized effect sizes, two report z-scores only, and one reports only a study count. They cannot be averaged or pooled into a single “overall effect size.”

Study-by-study outcomes

  • Radin (1989) — a large aggregate of experimental studies (k=597 individual studies), direction positive. No pooled effect size metric is recorded in the library for this row beyond the study count.
  • Bierman (2000) — a reanalysis of three datasets, reporting a Stouffer composite z=2.748, p=0.003, direction positive. Note this is a reanalysis by Bierman, not a primary Radin-authored pooling.
  • Radin (2004) — four combined experiments on pre-stimulus effects, with a weighted mean standardized effect size of ES=0.064 (expressed as z/√n), z=4.04, p=1.3×10⁻⁵, N=4,569, direction positive.
  • Radin (2012) — four double-slit experiments combined (all sessions, Table V), standardized ES=−0.2 (z/√n form), z=−2.17, p=0.015, N=121, direction listed as positive. The negative ES sign warrants attention: the ESP-Nexus study audit page notes that per-experiment summary statistics are given in Tables I–VI and that no per-session data table is published in the text — readers should consult that audit for the full picture of how this combined figure is derived.
  • Radin (2013) — three experiments combined via unweighted Stouffer z=6.81, p=4.8×10⁻¹², k=3, direction positive. The study audit page flags that the large modeled effect sizes in this paper come from a subset of 12 sessions chosen because they were already significant, and that the paper carries four internal numerical inconsistencies — that audit is essential context before treating z=6.81 as a settled headline figure.

Unsettled signals the evidence carries

  • The 2012 combined ES is negative in sign while the directional flag is positive — these pull against each other and the audit page is the right place to resolve the tension.
  • Effect sizes where they are reported are small (ES≈0.064 in 2004), requiring large samples or meta-analytic aggregation to detect reliably.
  • The 2013 result, while the largest z in the set, is subject to the selection concerns noted in the audit.
  • Heterogeneity across paradigms (random-event generators, pre-stimulus physiology, double-slit interference) means these rows are not a coherent replication series — each tests a different proposed mechanism.
